Success for Newark & District Air Cadets

Air Cadets from 1260 Squadron Newark & District Air Cadets came away successful after competing against Squadrons from across Trent Wing in a variety of activities at the annual Wing Field Day competition held at RAF Digby.

Corporal Daniel Priest (pictured) secured first place in the air craft modelling competition with a fabulous model. The First Aid team of Corporal Rebecca Beeching, Corporal James Walker, Corporal William Burnett-Boothroyd and Cadet Turner came a magnificent second and our singing ensemble of Cadets Songer, Greenbury, Wright and Johnson came sixth in their competition.

These, and other, results contributed to 1260 achieving a tremendous overall position of third place, a very significant improvement on the 22nd position achieved in 2015.

1260 Squadron Commanding Officer, Flight Lieutenant Martin Derbyshire said “I could not be more proud of our Cadets, they were all amazing and, as always, a credit to the Squadron.  I would also like to thank all of the staff for their support and dedication to our Cadets”.
